Causes

Unprotected intercourse is the most common route of transmission, but STIs can also be passed through oral or anal sex. Many different organisms can be responsible, and symptoms vary widely some infections cause no symptoms at all, which is why regular testing matters even without obvious signs.

Symptoms in Men

Common symptoms include burning or itching in the penis, discharge from the penis, pelvic pain, sores, bumps, or blisters on the penis, anus, or mouth, burning or pain during urination or bowel movements, and unusually frequent bathroom visits.

Symptoms in Women

Common symptoms include burning or itching in the vagina, unusual discharge or odour, pelvic pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, pain during sex, sores, bumps, or blisters, burning or pain during urination or bowel movements, and frequent urination related to a bladder infection.

Diagnosis in Dubai

Diagnosis combines a clinical examination with laboratory testing either a fluid sample from the vagina or penis, or a blood test. PCR testing is the most accurate method available and is offered directly at the clinic, screening for Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia, Ureaplasma, Mycoplasma, Treponema Pallidum (Syphilis), Gardnerella, Trichomonas
Vaginalis, Herpes Simplex Virus, and HPV, as well as Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV infections that can otherwise go unnoticed until serious complications arise.
